About
the Artist

I am Salvador Rubio Rivera, a Mexican-born, Washington, D.C.-based artist with a deep connection to my cultural roots. Art has been my passion since childhood, shaping the way I see and express the world around me. While primarily self-taught, I earned my BFA in Studio Art from Western Washington University, refining my technical skills and artistic voice.

Versatility defines my practice—I work across airbrush, oil, acrylic, and pencil, always exploring new ways to bring my subjects to life. People are at the core of my work. Through realism, I capture presence, emotion, and the essence of a moment, blending traditional techniques with contemporary approaches.

For the past several years, I’ve been immersed in D.C.’s art scene, exhibiting my work and engaging with a creative community that continues to push me forward. My goal is to create work that resonates, challenges, and invites connection—whether through large-scale portraits, intimate studies, or immersive experiences.
